DJ Dave was our DJ, emcee, and source of calm guidance for our wedding this past Saturday. We highly recommend him and enjoyed working with him through the process. Our event was more intimate with 40 guests and Dave provide music for our procession, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and dance floor. He also provided announcements when transitioning between each part which we appreciated. He was the perfect presence with a light touch and thoughtful guidance as much of this was new to us. His initial planning form was greatly appreciated as was his encouraging us to provide a list of songs that we wanted. He said many times that this is our event, We had multiple generations at the event and he filled in beautifully with tunes that appealed to everyone! He was also prepared by providing wireless mics for the toasts and ceremony. His audio quality was also very good as any videos had music with good sound quality in the background. DJ Dave was great at our backyard wedding. We had about 35 guests and he had us dancing all night. His professionalism is unmatched. He gave us confidence going into the wedding that everything was going to be great. He played the right songs at the right times during the ceremony. He responded when we requested songs. His equipment was top notch. It was great chatting with him before and after. He’s not only a great DJ but a great human.
DJ Dave has such a passion for his work and it truly shows! We met with DJ Dave ~6 months in advance of our wedding and he walked us through his process and what he'd need from us. After the meeting we were so relieved that we had chosen him as our wedding DJ.
DJ Dave did not disappoint! Closer to our wedding date he proactively reached out because he wanted to prepare for our wedding. We wanted a mix of Bay Area and Philadelphia songs given that's where my husband and I are from. From the moment dancing started everyone was on the dance floor!
He told us that he treats every wedding like it's the Super Bowl and that showed in his music selection for our event. I highly recommend DJ Dave for your next event.
DJ Dave was a recommendation from our wedding planner, Dreams on a Dime, for our wedding.
I contacted him and DJ Dave suggested that Alvin and I come and see him in action at the Starlite Room at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. We did and we liked DJ the first moment we came by our table. He was so easy to work with and had this great happy let's party attitude. I told him that we listen to any type of music even hard rock. When he returned to his turntable, he mixed in R&B with a hard rock song by Twisted Sister, Awesome. Both my fiance and I were sold.
During the months waiting for our wedding, Dave kept in contact with us via cell phone and email. DJ Dave also had experience dealing with the venue we chose for our wedding banquet, Yank Sing, which was great because the venue needed extra speakers and had strict set up restrictions. He is also super affordable for weddings. Some other DJ's wanted to charge an extra $500 for the extra speakers needed for our venue, but DJ Dave didn't charge us extra. He told us enjoys his work and likes DJ'ing weddings and wants to make sure it's affordable for the wedding couple.
On the day of the wedding, DJ Dave brought in an assistant and was great and professional throughout the night. Our friends had various special requests which he fulfilled without any problems. He worked with us with all of our various requests.
If anyone has gone to a chinese wedding banquet, you know that after the food is done everyone starts leaving and there is no dancing. DJ Dave got my guests to dance!
I recommend him to anyone who wants a professional, easy going, relaxed DJ for your venue. Plus he's been a DJ for 15+ years.
DJ Dave was the DJ at my wedding in Lake Tahoe. He was one of the recommendations of our wedding planner (One Fine Day Events) and we decided we wanted to have a San Francisco DJ rather than a local Lake Tahoe DJ - and I'm so glad we did.
Dave travelled to Lake Tahoe (We paid for his accomodations at a local inn for the evening) and did a FABULOUS job at our wedding! We weren't able to meet him before the wedding because we were planning it from NYC. However, we had some friends go check him out at the Starlight room who said he was great.
His rates were super reasonable and included everything - additional speakers etc. No hidden fees at the end!
We shared many emails with Dave back and forth with our 'must play' and 'do not play' lists. We had Dave doing the ceremony music as well, since the wedding was at our lakehouse on the lawn. The execution was flawless and Dave played each song for just the right amount of time (the processional, recessional, etc.).
He was fabulous about setting up the speakers and mike for my brother (the officiant) and everything went so smoothly. Even when my husband's mother decided last minute (after speeches were over) that she wanted to give a speech, Dave was able to dash back, grab a mike and get her set up within 2 minutes so that no one even noticed a pause in the timeline.
The dancing was great and Dave got everyone on the dance floor quickly. During the cocktail hour he ran with our suggestions and the older adults in the crowd were really enjoying the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd tunes.
Later in the evening Dave transitioned to hip hop and pop music and had everyone going crazy on the dance floor. I only wish we could have brought him along to our afterparty (the restaurant had a terrible music system!) because he really kept the party going!
Dave was also kind, warm and friendly and my dad said he enjoyed chatting with him during the breakdown and cleanup post-wedding. He also found out Dave and I went to the same boarding school for high school - what a crazy coincidence!
